[Hardware Troubleshooting] SAS Hard Drive Smart Info Identification Standard

Problem Description

When you use the smartctl -a command to check the smart information of a SAS hard disk, the output result is different from that Noncritical SATA hard disk. The following is a method for identifying a SAS hard disk and a criterion for judging smart information failures.

**How to identify a SAS disk? **

Note: The rotation rate of commonly used SAS disks is faster than that of SATA disks, reaching more than 10,000 rpm (Rotation Rate); and most of them are 2.5 inches, while most SATA disks are 3.5 inches.

Smart Info Judgment Criteria

  1. SMART Health Status
  2. Elements in grown defect list (Bad Sector detection)
  3. Total uncorrected errors
