[HCI-VN] NIC does not receive lacp messages, resulting in abnormal lacp aggregation negotiation

Problem Description

Customer feedback: After forming lacp aggregation, negotiation cannot be achieved

Effective Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Check the operation of the kernel LACP aggregate interface
    cat /proc/net/bonding/channelx
    Observe the system mac address in the details partner lacp pdu of the alarm network port and find that it is all 0, which proves that the negotiation is not successful.
  2. Capture lacp messages on two member ports and find that both member ports can only capture the messages they send out, but not the messages responded by the other end. It is suspected that the switch side configuration is abnormal.
  3. Let the customer connect a normal Node to the abnormal Node network port directly and find that negotiation still cannot be achieved. After capturing the packets, it is found that the normal Node can receive and reply to the lacp message sent by the abnormal Node, but the abnormal Node cannot receive the reply message.

  4. Check the NIC model and find that this NIC is on the blacklist and has compatibility issues:

Root Cause

There is a problem with the NIC hardware that causes lacp to fail to negotiate

Solution

The customer has switched to static aggregation. The NIC is not in the compatibility list. It is recommended to replace it with a compatible NIC.
