[AF] AF failed to negotiate 1000Mb/s with the optical modem interface, but successfully negotiated with the switch

Problem Description

The AF external network port is directly connected to the optical modem, but the Interfaces is negotiated to 100Mb/s; if it is connected to an intranet switch, it can be negotiated to 1000Mb/s.

Process——

  1. Confirm with the operator that the optical modem is Gigabit

  2. Check whether the external network port is in Auto-negotiation mode

  3. Check the connection of the optical modem and find that the rightmost Gigabit port is not in use.

Root cause

Only the rightmost port of the Interfaces is Gigabit, the other Interfaces are 100M

solution

After connecting the AF external network port to the rightmost Gigabit port of the optical modem, 1000Mb/s can be negotiated successfully, as shown below:
