Problem Description

Home is inconsistent with the memory displayed on the SCP Home

Effective troubleshooting steps

  1. There is no difference between total memory and Home when calculating on HCI
  2. The Cluster list of scp also shows 768G, which is consistent with HCI
  3. The domain scp homepage displayed in the scp Resource Pool list is consistent with 596G, and Cluster Quota is unlimited, which remains the case after synchronizing the data

  4. Contact R&D to confirm the cause of the problem. The cloud management memory calculation method is memory = (MEM[total physical machine memory]-32G[reserved])*N[number of Node][assuming that each host is the same]*1.0[over-provisioning ratio configured on scp]. Therefore, the memory size on the Home of the cloud management is inconsistent with the memory displayed on Home the hyper-converged platform.

Root cause

The cloud management memory is calculated as follows: Memory = (MEM[Total physical machine memory]-32G[Reserved])N[Number of Node][Assuming that each host is the same]1.0[Over-provisioning ratio configured on SCP]
