[SCP] The real IP record of VM is inaccurate

Problem Description

Feedback: The VM IP information obtained by the API is inaccurate

Effective troubleshooting steps

  1. Further analysis shows that the original problem description can be summarized as follows: the virtual machine name and IP address have been modified on the HCI console, but SCP has not obtained the real IP address after the change.
    Check HCI/SCP VM information


    Check VM Operation Logs on HCI


    There is no "Edit VM" in the SCP VM, indicating that the operation was performed on HCI.

Root cause

In versions prior to SCP670, SCP obtains the configuration IP of the VM. If VM IP configuration is changed on HCI, this information cannot be synchronized to SCP, resulting in inconsistency between the configuration IP obtained by SCP and the actual IP.

solution

  1. Versions above SCP670 support direct identification of the VM network card IP address. The identification scheme can be adjusted directly on the page.
  2. For the old version of scp, guide the customer to change the VM SCP
